Activate the seed households with stimuli (social, economic, design) to increase adoption.

A combination of models such as the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) and the Motivation, Opportunity, Ability (MOA) model will be used to describe where interventions are needed and which could create the desired effect. Specifically, the study focuses on the question of what is needed for seed households to change their behaviour. What interventions could be devised that would attract the seed nodes to change and, subsequently, the rest of the surrounding network? During this stage, possible activation or transition packages are sampled in participatory action research with the stakeholders and tested in the local context.

Result: a selection of behaviour change methods for the energy transition, households’ motivation opportunity and ability for alternative energy systems, transition packages.
